My 50 gig collection is about 9000 and my average bitrate is only like 160.

My 15GB collection is about 4400 and my average bitrate is ~ 128kbps.

It's about 12 days of music, which works out to about 4 minutes per song.

Do you have full symphonies as a single file?

Some of my techno music are large single files. I probably only have about 30-40gigs of music and only cycle through it at a gig or two at a time every few weeks.

Yeah, being a packrat is gay. I'm constantly deleting shit. I don't even NEED the space.

I'm not using SCSI but I purchased a backup drive for each partition. Every now and then (end of the month) I back them up.

It's not a perfect system but it's better than nothing. If I were smarter I would have purchased a battery backup by now. Power sags will kill my system sooner than anything else.
