I was surprised too. People need to stop getting this false impression that Austin is a somewhat liberal, southwestern city.

Uh, no. Maybe 10years ago, but even then, no.
Austin today is a very authoritarian mcCity, which is probably safer than any other major city in the south. Like much of Texas, it is actually rather presentable, and has plenty of restaurants, service industry there is actually fairly good by US standards, considering how underpaid it is.
Still, fuck that city. Its authoritarian and cheesy, and no one there is happy. |

Well, I didnt mean Austin was THAT bad....
ITs just people who havent been to Texas say its backwards, whereas people who have been there overrate it. The UN rates it as a below average state in the US, and I think that is about right
OR, as BF put it, if the rest of the south sank in the ocean it would be the worst state in the country |
