I'm sick and tired of US politicians making wild statements about how every country should be a Democracy, when what they really want is for these countries to have a "democracy" that supports US policy.

And then the politicians complain when that supposed democracy in a country who has never even had a semblance of democracy in the past turns and thumbs its nose at the US and does what it wants instead of what the US wants. Duh, a democracy is supposed to be based on the opinions and beliefs of its people, and each group of people have their own beliefs different than others.

And if a democracy forms in a place where there is no equality, then of course there will be no equality in the government.

Every time I hear a pundit, or Bush, or some crony go on and on about how every country deserves a democracy, they sound like proselytizers.

The US hates Ahmadinejad because we always have to hate someone. There's no more Saddam. Gotta have the bogeyman. I don't know why the focus shifted away from Bin Laden (who we already made more dangerous than he ever was on his own).

I think it's easy with Ahmadinejad, because Americans are very racist. We see this guy who looks like a middle-eastern used car salesman and equate him with scum. He's the package store clerk in a big dopey suit without a tie, scuzzy looking and dark. An average Joe American wants to beat this guy up and throw a brick through his window.

Then there's the whole Iranian Revolution factor, which is similar to the situation in Cuba. We take it very personally when a country overthrows our puppet governments.
