People ate high amounts of saturated fat for a long time, without actually getting fat (though they did do terrible damage to their hearts and arteries). It's sugar that gets you fat. Your body will process sugar first, and then store anything more complicated (starches and fats) as body fat reserves. So if you drink a 20 oz. coke with your hamburger, you're only going to use that coke for energy, and the hamburger will go to your cockfat.

The fast food chains are either owned by or have close relationships with the soda corporations, from whom they get it for almost nothing.

The food is nothing but a neon light to get you in there so they can sell you .003 cents worth of flavored water for $2.
