I didn't feel any interest or positive emotions whatsoever when I saw American Splendor, but I'd be glad to hear any reason I should have liked it!

I find myself arguing a lot about how a movie or a game isn't as shitty as everyone is making it out to be, but it's still pretty shitty.

I'll admit a large part of the reason why I liked American Splendor is that I am into comics myself and desire a career in that arena, so the story itself is inspiring. As far as cinematic translations of comics go, I believe it be the best by far in both spirit and execution (I wrote a paper on it for a class). And as a film it is well-acted, out-of-the-ordinary, and uses a lot of interesting devices and techniques I haven't seen elsewhere.

Of course, arguing reasons to like something is also gay, because who cares? There are people behind these monitors, and they're going to like what they like and that's it.
