Every team has to face 3 other teams, though.
So that's 9 games in total if we play 3 games each.
Normally people that come on play around 2 or 3 games in all.
Anyway, zigzagging is not fair because TL and Yogurtman combined are better than Zenxin and Gimp Mask. Particularly on Dungeon and Prison.
And it can be even worse. He could end up with Rice and Roy, for example. How would that be remotely fair? |

You think that ALDP will be the fourth best person that shows up?
I have to admit, zigzag does work if we have enough people for more than 3 on a team, because then having only Triple Life and Yogurtman is not THAT powerful. |

OK, let's try to get this figured out quickly.
Vinny has already espoused the system he supports and explained how it would be achieved. Let me explain what I think.
There are four teams, V, P, S and T. The idea is that in each game, all the teams would be playing at once. This would be accomplished fairly by pairing them up into superteams and having the superteams face off.
Game 1: S+T vs. V+P
Game 2: S+V vs. T+P
Game 3: S+P vs. T+V
In this style, everyone plays in every game and responds to the play of everyone else. If we play tournament style, then at no point in the night will more than 6 people be involved in a game, and frankly that's fucking boring. I have other concerns but that's my main one. Do we want to waste all our organization on what amounts to small nightly games taking place in different universes?
Vinny's attraction to tournament style is tournament style itself, and the thrill of trying not to be sent home. I'm trying to see if the popular consensus agrees with him. |

| That doesn't work with 3 different levels though, unless you're suggesting that we play 9 games. |

The Vinny Mac (8:57:41 PM): Well, I'd rather do the tournament.
The Vinny Mac (8:57:52 PM): That's what makes it exciting when people go home!
Ol Dirt McGurt (8:59:32 PM): What Seru is describing is retarded.
INDIANA JONZE (9:00:52 PM): True or false: If it were possible to fairly involve everyone in large games instead of doing it tournament style and having teams go home early, that would be better.
Ol Dirt McGurt (9:01:58 PM): I don't think the losing teams HAVE to quit playing or anything.
Ol Dirt McGurt (9:02:57 PM): I think this is an interesting idea to try.
BunsandBurner (9:05:16 PM): I suppose it would work either way, although bigger teams would be interesting I guess, and we could watch all the games in progress
BunsandBurner (9:05:27 PM): It doesn't matter to me either way though
KingChoong (9:06:29 PM): Yeah, I think Vinny's idea is dumb.
KingChoong (9:07:29 PM): Yours could work, I suppose
INDIANA JONZE (9:08:29 PM): I'm thinking that for all intents and purposes, tournament style is going to feel like a particularly small clan game that could happen on any night of the week.
INDIANA JONZE (9:08:47 PM): Ohhh, duhhh, 3v3, I have no perception that there's another game going on
KingChoong (9:09:06 PM): Well, the important thing is to set it up so people get to play a lot!
FISTANARIUS (9:14:15 PM): My only objection to that is that it seems a less reliable indicator of the quality of the teams (referring to my suggestion) |

I agree with ALDP.
I think your method is perfectly fine with 9 games, though. In order for it to be valid we'd have to try every permutation on the same level.
Because obviously people's strengths vary by level. |

| I like Peter's idea because of the bigger teams. I vote for Peter's idea, possibly with 9 games but I don't think there would be any harm in 6 (2 on each map). |

Team T won by forfeiture, which I guess is pretty gay.
We should plan this over multiple days next time, because people only like to play for an hour or two. |
