FPS is such a tired genre. I long for the day when people realize shooting the same five types of monsters with the same generic weapon types you see in every game for 6 to 8 hours is not only the easiest type of game to make it's also the most boring.

i like to own all consoles at one point, Ive had a PS2, Gamecube and X-box not the new age ones but I got most use out of my PS2 then gamecube I liked more titles for but I played X-box alot (Fable, KotOR 2, DoA) but I would want a PS3 for the whole point of getting MGS and FF13 and I could play my old PS2 but im gonna wait until all issues are fixed. For an X-box 360 to play X-box games you cant have a pirated copy of windows and you have to register and shit, that is so fucking gay

Microsoft doesn't understand how to do backwards compatibility.

The best thing the Playstation 3 has going for it is being able to download Playstation games.

Now they just have to make some good ones available.

Is Theldorrin laughing because he agrees or because he thinks Microsoft have in fact figured out how to do backwards compatibility?

Microsoft is one of the best companies in the world when it comes to backwards compatibility.

There are all sorts of early 80s dos programs that run vanilla on my Windows XP computer.

You use the word "vanilla" way too much.

I'm limiting my scope of backwards compatibility to games.

Also many older games struggle to work on Windows XP without add-ons or goofy go arounds like System Shock 2.

Windows Vista is supposed to be pretty bad with backwards compatibility.

Vista is fine with backwards compatibility.

People just don't like all of the security warnings.

A properly written application can easily work in it, though.

I can play games from the 80s on my computer without using DosBox.
