Star Ocean the Second Story is poorly designed crap for the most part. Even in the 80s battles usually involve everyone in your party dying except for the character you control because the AI is insipid.

Nope, I came somewhat close, brought him to like 50000hp or something like that, then got wiped

Did you ever beat the fairy that was at the end of the cave of trials?

And did you ever beat the uber-fighting tournament in the alternate world? I never managed that one, I just couldn't take that massive mecha bird

My biggest issue with the game is the shitty party AI which I accepted as an inevitablity in those games until I played Tales of Symphonia.

Tales of Symphonia was a great fighting game with an awful set of characters and terrible story

Symphonia was better than Legendia, and fuck they both have better characters than Abyss.

Legendia had okay characters it just had mediocre gameplay and it took place on a magical island boat so it was fucking gay.

My favorite thing about Grandia is when you go into an inn and have a huge FEAST with all your party members and reflect on everything that's happened so far!
