Considering how pop culture is failing to evolve beyond, "Duhh, we use the Internet to spout dumb shit even more so than last decade!" this generation will probably get along well with the next generation. |

So lets talk more about this.
One thing I have realized here, and I don't know how it is in the west, is that the old generation, that is, our parents, are getting in the same social media fads as the young generation, and they are overlapping a lot.
For example, take something like instagram. I noticed that certain older people in our family use it and certain younger people use it, but MY generation doesn't.
Its also true for cell phone chatting applications, such as whatsapp, wechat, viber, and so on. I've noticed that the young generation are almost all using it, and the old generation are using it, but the 30 somethings arent that into it.
This is weird because its like the old generation and the young generation are discovering the new stuff on the internet at almost the same time (the young are growing into it and for the old, it has become so easy for them to get into). While, for my generation, we are used to whatever we did on the internet, and aren't as willing to jump into new things. For the young, there is no change needed, because everything for them is new, and its the same for the old, because they never really used the internet that much. For example, neither the new or the old ever really used forums, so they jump easily into new technology, while we move slower.
I'm not sure if what I am saying is relevant in west too, but if it is, then its all a bit weird, because the previous and the next generation are somehow forming into a group, while we are completely left out.
Of course, I hate both of those generations, the old because they are so fucking stupid, and the young because they are also so fucking stupid, and they can give each other blowjobs for all I care. |

I wonder how many years I have to wait before iOS and Android reach the functionality of Windows CE from 12 years ago. |

You're obsessed with generation gaps.
What happened in the USA is that a fairly lame generation (the baby boomers) made westerners lame; but baby boomers have gained so much money and power that no one really cares how lame the USA is anymore and baby boomers aren't that distinguishable from other generations anymore.
That sounds like a figment of my imagination (and it is) but no one can deny that baby boomers are narcisisstic.
In some regions (not all) of the country these traits were passed down to our women which is why I will still contend american women are the worst western women |

I actually sort of agree with MADali here.
I'm not necessarily a luddite but a lot of shit that my parents and my younger siblings use are similar, while I think about chatting in an IRC chatroom that is some archaic shit that nobody knows. |

I sort of see what MADali is saying too.
In all likelihood it's probably a bunch of dumb shit that would collapse if we really put the work into looking into it, but at the same time I also have the vague sense that he's onto something.
I guess I'll read the next post he makes. |

I can think of several examples from my own experience.
- I fucking hate large resolutions and want to stick to 1024x768 forever. It was hard enough to get me to move up from 800x600.
- Web use is steadily increasing on mobile devices, to the point of it being predicted that the PC will be dead/a minority as a Web browsing entity. I cannot fathom people who use the Web on mobile devices (other than to momentarily tolerate it in specific contexts).
- Very related, since this is one of the reason the Web sucks on a phone: touchscreens. Touchscreens suck absolute shit. Mice and keyboards are a far more precise, efficient, and data-rich means of input than somebody's filthy, shitty, hammy fingers.
Lexy is actually a pretty extreme example of exactly what MADali is talking about. She refuses to upgrade from Windows XP and despises it when the interfaces of any software or website undergo any sort of change in useability or aesthetics. |

Man, I fucking LOVE having my resolution at 2048x1152. It was weird at first, but it's so great once you get used to it. |

Yeah, it must be really great pulling out a magnifying glass in order to actually see a 50x50 image, and for every website and most programs to have an enormous, unwieldy expanse of whitespace.
Don't forget tiny ass text! |

Macs are annoying as fuck and yet I accept the overall upgrade that mac providdes
Which is stupid; because Mac claims to be designer PCs more accesible than windows, when in reality someone who doesn't belong to a computer genration should hate macs and will switch to windows. I don't get Macs, even though I have come to be more loyal to them than microsoft |

You don't get it, man.
Now that space is less important, I feel more free to use it. I very rarely used shortcuts before and relied almost entirely on the start menu, but it's really more economical to use shortcuts and I can use a fucking million of them. I end up using that space a lot better, I feel, and I can use it while keeping visibility of my wallpaper (Stupid reason, but fuck you). Plus, less/no scrolling for fuckhuge images and games look better.
Maybe it's because my eyes aren't gay, but I can see thumbnails just fine and 50x50 is bigger than the fucking emoticons for this board, which are easily visible. |

I've seen so many people stop using PCs. But I guess thats okay, because PCs have been used only for facebook for the last few years anyway.
I remember when iphone came out, I was, who would use this crippled piece of shit, that is two decade before every technology there is? But I slowly realized that people just want a nice looking screen to easily scroll through their gallery. |

Its gotten to a stage where I honestly cant understand why things get popular nowadays. This is problematic because I cant be a successful business if I cant understand people's needs in every area.
The only constant thing seems to be, make it as simple for users as you possibly can. Maybe thats why instagram got so popular, even though when I downloaded it, I thought, "thats it?" |
