I looked at Mark Nutter's website, and he has a link to this that credits the lyricist, composer and director, but not the book author, so I'm going to condemn this as a farce put on by posers.

I don't see why a re-animator play/musical would be any good when the series seems to rely really heavily on gorey special effects that you kind of need to see close up. Plus making it a musical just sounds like one of those dumb things that nerds who only love shit ironically would go for.
