There's this guy who goes to my gym, he's a doctor you see. I think he might be a surgeon, because he wears these blue surgical clothes that I see on television. Sometimes on long shifts, or so I think, he probably gets to go take a break, so he goes to the gym to stay active and to stay fit. It's really weird though, he keeps a bluetooth cellphone on him at all times, as if he's expecting a call. I sort of give him weird looks out of the corner of my eyes, hoping he'll just leave the gym alone and stop getting his disgusting clothing everywhere.

Well, it's a little more complicated than that.

I guess Frank Darabont is supposed to be notoriously difficult to work with (apparently, he's an epically powerful asshole).

BUT:

While I enjoyed the season, I feel like I WANTED to enjoy it more than I actually did.

I've watched some of this show and it seems to have very bad writing.

Their plot choices have made it so that it's not post apocalyptic, but instead touches heavily on apocalyptic. Why are they showing so much of what actually happened during the initial zombie uprising? Why are they talking about a cure and the disease itself?

Background for insight on the characters, progression of the story.

Finale kind of a letdown but it was still good. Way too much deus ex machina with them being the only people to stumble inside the CDC and friggin, find out what happens during zombification (which is almost STRAIGHT from Zombie Survival Guide). Gotta say some of the characters, like the redneck with the crossbow, strike a coolness chord with me much unlike most of the comicbook cast. Him striking the blast doors with the axe when he was already told they can survive rocket launchers speaks to me of the entire point of the episode - Sisyphus images rampant, it kind of just sums up the entire series, really: the drama of survival, and choosing to survive.
