I have a small apartment, and if I left my bathroom door open when I shit, the apartment would end up smelling like that shit! And my bathroom is right next to my kitchen.

I generally close doors if I'm alone anyway, though. Unless it's summer and the heat is unbearable.

I close the door, but I think it's mainly out of force of habit. A few times I've closed and locked the bathroom door while I was alone and wondered why I even bothered, but who gives a fuck. It's not hurting anyone to close the door. And you never know, someone might break into my house while I'm in there and I'll be saved the humiliation of them watching me shit.
