That would fill me with more confidence if Disney movies weren't hundreds of times better than the laughable shit that Pixar puts out. _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |

What?!
What moron thinks that Pixar has made anything close to as good as Beauty and the Beast or Aladdin? _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |

Pixar's stories are so much better written, characters more developed, and pathos real. And Disney hadn't put out anything good since Mulan, which is why the 2D studio died. The music hasn't even been good since The Lion King, and there its only okay. Aladdin has good music and great animation, but who really cares about the story or the characters. If you can watch the Incredibles or Ratatouille and say you don't care, than you're a liar.
The only "bad" movie that Pixar made was Cars, and I'd even say it is comparable to Mulan in quality. |

Hunchback of Notre Dame kicks ass, bitch! I don't really care about character development and pathos from these children's movies, I think I'd rather have good music. |

Incredibles was good, but it's not exactly timeless or anything.
Every other Pixar movie I've seen is cheap schlock. It's trite garbage that people like to indulge in because they see how wonderfully polished it is, even though it's just a polished horse apple.
Get real about character development in pixar movies (or even movies in general). They're too short to show real character development. _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |

The first 15 minutes of Up is the best part of the movie. |

I like the Pixar films but The Incredibles' acclaim really mystifies me. I feel like it could have been released as just another in the line of Dreamworks' soulless CGI films and no one would have noticed. I've only seen it once, though.
"Character development" is a very hard virtue to pin on any film, animated or not, and no matter its intended audience. I don't really see what the Pixar films have done to warrant ascribing to them that compliment and not to the nineties' Disney roster. And meanwhile, the latter group has great (and sometimes brilliantly written) songs. _________________ Last edited by God on Fri Apr 05, 33 4:00 am; edited 1 time in total |

Why do I feel like I'm in danger of having just written a post that could become my custom title? _________________ Last edited by God on Fri Apr 05, 33 4:00 am; edited 1 time in total |

Incredibles has the advantage of not being the standard animated fare (talking animals) and also not having the problem of Up and Wall-E where the story and excitement both go downhill. _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |

I certainly wouldn't compare it to a quality 2D movie, though. _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |

Have I ever had one? I can't remember if that's a quality unique to this board. _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |

I like the story/pacing in Pixar movies a lot more.
Disney has better music but the downside is that it usually is played during montages so a lot of the story is told at ludicrous speed.
Also, <3 Up and Wall-E. |
