No, everything I've learned was simply trial and error stemming from my days of creating shitty sprite edits and animated gifs. You guys remember that! Then I told my employer that I was planning on quitting to go back to school (Art school!) in a year and they offered to let me transfer to the art department and learn whatever I need from those people. I think they were just desperate to keep me around. I even got an unprompted raise!

And I don't even have a portfolio. I was going to whip one up for art school but that hardly seems like a necessity now. Mission all over.

And don't get the wrong idea, I'm not doing anything especially glamorous. Mostly page layouts and vectoring thus far. Having to redraw poorly scanned corporate logos is a repetitive nightmare left to the lowliest grunts. I just want to accrue an appropriate amount of experience so I can leverage my way into a more appropriate job at some local game company. That's where my heart belongs...
