Open Borders is generally good, it gives you trade routes which means commerce. Just don't open borders with a civilization that everybody hates, or else they'll all hate you.

Thel, if you play with us, I'd like to see how I fare in a 3 vs 1.

I tend to play peaceful and go for Space Race win on epic. I like to take my time, and usually have a lot of AI to make things more realistic. I am very excited about the existence of City-States and minor nations in Civ 5.

France was pretty hostile. Russia was nice, they're just in the way of my expansion.
