Yeah, actually, I'm pretty sure they're ALL his dream, just different levels. I mean, that's the point. They're trying to plant the idea really deep in his subconsciousness. Who stays behind has no relevance to whose dream it is, they just need at least one person to stay behind in a given LEVEL to kick them all back from the deeper level.

When I dream that I fall asleep and have another dream, I maintain a simultaneous simulation of the first dream, and can return to it after a while (things having happened in that world without my knowledge).

Also, you can solve comedy problems with dream logic, but if you need anything other than a bigger gun you're screwed.

My dreams usually involve beings of tremendous cosmic power, and you'd probably die instantly if you were just a normal human.
