I don't really understand why it's a big deal if Facebook knows I like Phil Collins and Sloths and ICE CREAM or what-the-fuck-ever.

The privacy settings aren't hard to figure out if you have half a brain. Yeah, it would be nice if the shit wasn't scattered around, but come on. Really?

As long as those who aren't "friends" can't see my profile information, I really don't give a shit what Facebook does with any of it.

I don't understand exactly why people are complaining myself. You have control over what you can and can not see. It's not like they force you to install those silly games. And it's pretty easy to block anyone's status update you don't care for.

I think the answer is people just like to complain.

I think I might destroy my facebook just because using it has become a horrible grind where everytime I want to change something I like to something else, I have to link to public pages that everyone can see and everyone immediately knows that I want to have sex with large black men with donkey cocks.

It's definitely becoming much more generic, which I guess is something I care about.

I guess if I cared about the concept of my online identity or whatever, I'd formally start a Nobody Cares, or something.

It's another one of those things that people don't really understand at all, but since it has the air of scandalousness and inpropriety and violation of rights around it, they feel that it's appropriate to have a mindless knee-jerk, shrieking overreaction, because everybody on the Internet adores the sound of their own gayness.

I understand where Morgan is coming from! I have a friend who got sickeningly paranoid about Facebook, to the point of just nuking his account out of the blue. Now he's back and feels very embarassed about the whole incident.

There's also that one time I found out an old high school teacher had this BEAR LOVE or something magazine listed in his friends. And by bear, it meant giant gay dudes!

Probably the worst thing you can do in Facebook is friend co-workers or -even worse- your boss. My boss tried to friend me and I ignored him!

The problem with Facebook's privacy, much like the privacy on most poorly run websites, is that it's all opt out.

So whenever they add a new feature or whatever, you have to magickally be aware of it and go to the privacy settings and opt out.

Also, I think their privacy system was extremely shitty at some point. I don't know if it's still is. Something about applications having access to not only all of your own information, but all of your friends information as well.

I can't really say more because I don't have a Facebook account.
