Anyways, the example ALDP provided, and Toronto, and brosef slang in general, is an attempt by people to be exclusive, elitist and condescending fucks.

Slang can be very exclusionary and make people feel alienated, especially when the two people interacting speak the same language.

In the situations that ALDP is describing I usually say "word". What is FTU's consensus on using the word "word"? Is it more acceptable than "true"? I've only heard a couple of people say "true" in response to shit they don't care about, and I definitely agree with ALDP on how gay it is to do that.

On rare occasions, I will use "mad" as a replacement for "extremely."

But I don't really use much slang, in general.
