This is a thread for advertisements using bizarre industry terminology that you would feel very uncomfortable hearing a normal person use.
I guess it could also be for instances of people talking like they do in commercials but I doubt if anyone can top my witnessing a woman say "sinfully delicious" at Applebee's, and I'm certain I don't want to hear about anything more mortifying than that.

| Recently I got a spam email concerning the fact that I had supposedly won the Nigerian lottery, that, for some reason, seemed to quote some book at the very end. Something like "Arturo looked at the bishop across the room, unable to say anything between his sobs. 'My brother is dead by my other brother's hand. My father's son has killed my father's son!" The fuuuuck? |

Can you believe some companies call toilet paper "bath tissue?" I wonder if real people ever do that, I think it would be a very poignant and telling demonstration of how insidiously TV-watching can affect somebody.

This thread is for terms and phrases that have no origin outside of advertising and certainly no place in the civilized world. Hearing a woman slyly ask "When was the last time your scented oil greeted you?" struck me as a strange question and I figured other people must be able to think of things like that.
