The chat is a fairly large segment of the board, and the only people we really talk shit about are people who we talk shit about on the board anyway.

The thing I hate about the chat (one of many things) is that people talk about stuff in the chat that they, for some reason, won't talk about on the board, even though it's the exact same fucking people and it's being logged and saved somewhere just as surely as the board is.

And yet people seem to have this idea that the chat is where you can really let the dirty laundry fly and not have to worry about repercussions.

I think things getting revealed on the chat aside from the board is a matter of convenience rather than preference. It's like when you decide not to post a new topic because the thought isn't worth discussion (you don't know what this). In the chat you can just dump whatever shitty idea pops into your head.

Of course, sometimes the people who drop bombshells in the chat really don't use the board that often at all.

Well, I know when I won the lottery I didn't tell the board because I wanted to spite Chris, and not for any of those reasons.

I guess spiting Chris is only justification for my own actions, though.
