My friend owns a computer shop and I told him I wanta PC, and he told me he'd make this for me,
2.53 Intel Core 2 Duo
Acus Motherboard Without VGA
9400 GT - 1 gb ram
4 GB Ram (memory)
250 hard disk
21 inch monitor
Its coming to around 3,000 dhs (usd 820), I'm guessing the fans and case is good enough. Comments? How about the graphics card? A quick search on net seemed to show its not impressive, but while I want something decent, I don't exactly want to spend 300 dollars on a fucking graphics card so I can play the LATEST game, when I could just probably play games from 2008 instead |

Ask about the power supply because that's going to be a big headache for you if it sucks.
Putting a million gigabytes of ram on a shitty video card is a common thing to do, and yeah, the card will still suck. I don't know anything about that card specifically though. |

It's also hard to comment on price because that pretty much varies throughout the world.
A lot of RAM on a graphics card will at least help with texture memory. Do you even play heavy duty computer games, though? |

MadAli, if you're getting a 21" monitor, you're better off spending a little extra on a graphic's card. Also, what kind of case, and can you give a little more information about the motherboard?
Acus sounds like a knockoff of Asus. |

Fuck it, I already confirmed to my friend to just get it. I'll end up doing nothing aside from going online and listening to music, so its not a big deal |

21" LCD monitors are such bullshit. Yeah, its great if you stare straight at it, but if you look at it in any weird angles, it looks like shit. |

Also, why is every antivirus software the world so shitty? I usually dont use them, but my friend included a copy of one of them and charged me for it (something like 20 dollars) and I feel obliged to use it |

they make a couple of free ones try http://free.avg.com/ I use Symantec because it is free for me.
Anyways I never used one before and if I couldnt get one for free I wouldnt use one either. Pretty much unless you view odd russian porn sites all the time you should be good. |

I'm on a Mac right now. Somebody gave me their old iBook.
OH MAN.
It's like using iTunes, only every program is iTunes.
However, the battery life is extremely good, and it's smaller and lighter and cuter than my other laptop, and the keyboard is tactilely pleasurable, so I might have to use this regularly. |

Oh, that sucks. I have never used a program that is worse than iTunes.
Also, I don't get the allure of a light laptop. I mean, the weight difference is not really significant unless you're extremely frail or plan on doing curls with it. |

Size/weight absolutely makes a difference.
The advantages of a light and compact laptop come at unexpected times and in unexpected ways, but they come. |

That's unlikely since I'm familiar with unix, which means I'm generally familiar with OS X as well.
I would rather have a large laptop, since that means a larger screen, keyboard, better specs, cheaper, and a better lifespan.
Of course I carry my laptop in a case. I guess if you walk around with your laptop open then a baby sized one is useful. |
