As a general TREND, southern and red states take the most money.


The most liberal parts of the country (Chicago, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, New England, West Coast) give away the most money.

Yogurtman is a republican; yet his state only gets 69 percent of its own money back, to give to southern states like Virginia, which sucks 66 percent more tax dollars than it produces.


New Jersey only gets 55 percent of its money back, so go easy on them.

Depending on the years over which this data was collected, this could be really unfair to states like Louisiana and Mississippi.

But Louisiana doesn't pay taxes as a general rule. There's an underground, French-speaking fishing economy that does all its business under the table.
