I can count on one hand the number of movies made pre-1970 that I actually enjoyed, but this is now one of them. I can't think of the others right now, but this may be number one or number two.

It's great.

It wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but that's okay, because it turned out to be more PSYCHOLOGICALLY COMPLEX than I was expecting, but not as boring as "psychologically complex" things tend to be.

I was expecting something like "pedo takes advantage of young girl and comes to regret it," but it was more like "pathetic, deluded idiot becomes obsessed with young girl, they end up BOTH taking advantage of each other, and everybody ends up getting fucked over."

I guess I'll put the 1998 version in my queue, because I want to see a version that wasn't made in a time/cultural context such that the pedophilia couldn't be addressed as directly and realistically as it should, and I'm confident that it will do so.

Also, Peter Sellers as Clare Quilty is the most fucking obnoxious character in the history of film. I almost couldn't stand it anymore, and I love horrible, hyper-annoying characters like that. I was like "Haha, yes! YES! (liking it especially because Lexy was extremely irritated by the character) Haha! OK! Yes... OK... ok, stop, stop now. STOP, FUCK. MOTHER FUCK."

It actually isn't that good and I didn't put a lot of effort into it.

I just wanted to do one of those Nickass-style titles, because I never do.
