The new dungeon system isn't as broken as it seemed at first, but it was still much easier in Persona 3.

I feel so much more stressed in this game than I did when playing the last one. Probably because of the much sharper difficulty curve and the few quick glances I take at the max social link guide to find out the right answers at school reveal to me that I've already fallen behind where I need to be.

Grinding in this game is so ridiculous.

The game balances out eventually, the past three dungeons I've been able to conquer in one in-game day, as long as I defeated every enemy in my path.

It's very important to max out the fox social link, though.

Are you supposed to wait a long time before fighting the extra king boss in the first dungeon?

Because I'm Level 20 and he's still one-hit-killing me.

Yeah, there's no time limit for that. No reason you can't come back two dungeons later and completely destroy them, since all you get for it, other than experience and money, is a Courage increase and a decent but not exceptional weapon.
