Some of the redrawn sprites are awesome! I like how Sagat looks more like his Alpha counterpart now, instead of some really tall monkey like before.

As for the Web, it stopped being good in June 2001.

Which is also about the time that movies went to shit, now that I think about it. And anime.

I could have explained the SPEED thing, but I guess I'm a little late.

The standard TOURNAMENT SPEED was Japan's speed, which is one notch BELOW the American speed, which they made extra fast for whatever reason.

Any other changes is because of rebalanced, you playing some other SF2 before SUPER TURBO, or you remembering it wrong.

Anyway, this game is very fun. I never got into SF2 in any meaningful way, so I'm finding this game very difficult. It feels like the ESSENCE is SLIGHTLY POKE your opponent before they can POKE YOU. I've been playing the computer and most of the time one of us is awaiting for the other to HURL A PUNCH or something so they can ROUNDHOUSE the TIPS OF OUR KNUCKLES for SUPER DAMAGE.

I'm terrified of playing online. I need to get stronger.

There are terrible demons online in Street Fighter.

I thought I was at least mediocre at Capcom vs. SNK2 until an 11 year old completely raped me with Vega.

Yeah.

I've always thought of myself as a decent old-school SF II player, not great, not even good enough to beat the best guy I know, but an hour online was enough to completely fuck me in the ass and make me humble.

Also, rebalancing is gay.

There should be characters that are simply shittier than others. like in real life, how some people are just not as good.

And really, there's a practical reason for it too. A good player should be able to say "OK, you can be Ryu; I'll be Dhalsim" for the sake of handicapping/levelling the playing field.

Well, some characters are better than others, its just the differences are smaller. Even now, rebalanced mode which is basically the culmination of 15 years of HIGH LEVEL Street Fighter knowledge implemented by PROS is probably still unbalanced, and its only a matter of time until the best characters rise to the top.
