New Game+ doesn't seem that useful, only because nothing comes at a set level, it just affects your point distribution. The idea, I guess, is you play through the game multiple times.

I really like this game, a lot. I went to save some kid from a family of cannibals, found out the cannibals weren't as bad as I thought, but still killed them anyway since their boss had a FLAME SWORD.

The most moral choice I've made in the game so far is I found a friendly, laser gatling gun wielding guy and didn't kill him for his weapon. I'll probably regret that.

Should be as low on ammo as I am? I'm searching through GASTYVILLE or whatever trying to find that kid's father and depleting my bullets like crazy killing stupid shitty fire ants.

Yeah, you're pretty low ammo at the beginning. However, the point distribution seems to be pretty important, and I built a guy who had constant VATS attacks. All of my shots at the beginning were SLO-MO shots.

Yeah, VATS is pretty essential early on to conserve ammo. Also, it benefits you to have weapons for the various ammo types so you aren't overly dependent on one weapon. By constantly switching between a shotgun, assault rifle and energy weapons I conserve ammo pretty effectively.

HOW THE FUCK DOES HACKING WORK

Well one of the tricks to hacking is that if you have no idea what the password is after 3 guesses you can exit out and it'll reset the puzzle giving you another 3 guesses at a new password. This prevents you from ever getting locked out, you can do a similar trick with bobby pins for lock picking although they break after 3 tries in my experience.

Anyway the best strategy with hacking is to look for patterns. For instance if half the available words end in ing, then pick one and if less than 3 letters are correct you can eliminate all of those words for the next guess, conversely if at least 3 are correct you can usually assume that the password will be one of the ones that end in ing.

I have no idea what the X/X signifies. It can't possibly be, as Help says, how many letters are in the correct position.

X/X is how many letters in the word are correct.

For instance the password is winning, and I guess singing, then it would say 5/9 correct.
