I think a lot of bands have taken the SHOW out of the show. Like, we already know what the fucking songs sound like, and chances are they're not going to be much different played live. Spectacle is important!

God, how the hell could the audience ruin a Radiohead concert? When I think of things that can fuck up a concert (random mosh pits, dancing/making out drunks, people yelling a band's most famous song for the whole concert, etc), Radiohead does not top my list of groups likely to bring in the wrong element.

Duhhhh, everybody is gonna be so smug like their the biggest radiohead fans, that would piss me off so much

Daft Punk was incredible because I was sober and in control of myself and because I didn't know what to expect so I was absolutely obliterated by Daft Punk putting on a career defining performance.

Anyways, I'm seeing Radiohead a few times this summer and they should be incredible.

Except for the mosh pits, I could see almost any other horrible thing you could imagine happening. With as many people as a Radiohead concert would draw, it's just inevitable.

I am pretty jaded about concerts in general, so maybe nothing I say matters!

I guess I've seen enough spinning laser lights that it doesn't really phase me anymore. And even when they do happen, they're usually just half-assed.

Daft Punk had a billion lasers, and the only thing I've seen that even comes close is probably the Muse show that happened the next day, but I was kind of sick of Muse by then so w/e.

Daft Punk's lightshow had an incredible variety of visual effects and gags and stage manipulations that make anything else in terms of a dancey/techno vibe obsolete.

I mean, saying that they had lasers is a bit of an understatement.

The essence of what I'm trying to say is, I like Radiohead, but I'm not going to put in much effort to see them, which would have to be a fair amount, and I suspect this is because I do not think their live performance would be anything particularly AMAZING (I could be wrong!).

The stars just aren't aligned.

I could say this about almost anything I used to be really excited about (The Mars Volta being a prime example). The magic is gone.
