I killfiled Chris, ALDP, so I can't really respond to any of his undoubtedly erroneous points.

There are probably three major starting points for FTU that are much more relevant. There's the initial formation of FTU, which should really be what is celebrated, since it is literally what is being celebrated. There's also the dissolution of DBZU, and when everyone moved to Peter's board, which is not very good because it's so imprecise. And there's also the very start of Internet association between FTU people, which I suppose goes back to Spamdini, Mike and Derek back whenever.
