Outland isn't really that interesting to me. The constant travelling is pretty awesome, but he doesn't talk about that enough. The retarded racial/gender/national superiority issues that provoke it got old a long time ago, and he spends most of his time on this board rewriting his one-dimensional, two-line dissertation of them over and over again.

Think about it. YOu said you hate the south because it's ghetto. You pick on what you percieve to be white trash, rednecks, hilbillies, crackers, etc. because the make easy targets.

But they aren't the real reason people hate the south. The real reason people hate the south is something they wont admit to, because it would make themselves hypocrites.

And that reason in Conservatism.

There are plenty of places in the south that are safe, courteous, wealthy, and even modern. Why do you hate them? Because they're conservative conformistic douchebags. That is why you suck for being a conformist Mautty. That is why the south nowadays attracts plenty of douchebag northerners and immigrants. And that is why Americans are the "southerners" of western civilization.

Parts of Texas is very southern, Parts are very southwestern. Texas is so huge and so mixed and geographically can be Southern, Midwestern, or Southwestern. So to call it part of the south is wrong and ignorant. Its culture (cowboys, rodeos, and Mexicans) are very southwestern. But on the other hand its political views are very southern. But the fact that Texas is west of the Mississippi makes it a non southern state that has southern influence.
