Apparently his party persona was a facade. He was a social outcast and never even went to parties. He doesn't even drink! He used the Andrew W.K. persona as a means to raise his self-esteem, and now he talks to people about how they can empower themselves in similar ways.

Mike Dunn, you're acting as if this is some big scandal. He never advocated drinking before and the awesome part about him is that he does all this awesome shit without the aid of such. In short he's all about fun for the sake of fun. It's no surprise he's a motivational speaker! Just hearing him talk is enough to make you want to go out and, uh, do stuff.

I'm not acting like this is any big anything, I'm just letting you guys know what Andrew W.K. has been up to since THE WOLF. I still think he's a cool guy! When I saw him live I actually thought he reminded me of a cross between Macho Man Randy Savage and Tony Robbins, so his career choice makes perfect sense.

My friend Kevin went to an Andrew WK show and asked him if he was gonna party after the show, and Andrew WK said, "No, I'm going home to answer fan emails."

After he told me this, we spent the next thirty minutes in a cute, boyish stupor singing Andrew WK songs and replacing the word "party" with "Email."

"It's time to EMAIL. Let's EMAIL. Sitting on computer chair and writing an EMAIL. EMAIL."

The moral of this story is that Andrew WK is great, and I'm a flaming homosexual.

Except that Nirvana basically was an 80s hairband.

And Andrew WK is an eighties hair throwback so ridiculous that it marks the official stopping point of taking the genre seriously in any mind that is worth being respected.
