I am an immense fan of Gould. Check out his 1955 version of Bach's Goldberg Variations and his later work on The Well-Tempered Klavier. I've never listened to his Solitude Trilogy, but I have heard they are quite amazing.

It is interesting to listen to him; if you listen closely in all of his recordings, he hums and taps his foot constantly across the recordings, because he was incredibly idiosyncratic (and a total Aspie).

But seriously, he was the greatest pianist of the 20th century, no doubt.

How can you say that, Theldorrin? Bach is amazingly varied and colorful. I love his violin sonatas.

I've got Glenn Gould over here (we just finished shooting some hoops) and he says you're gay for disliking Bach, so it looks like we've hit a stalemate.

Anyway, it WOULD be gay to dislike Bach if you played one of those primitive instruments that he wrote so much awful music for (like a Harpsichord).
