In any case, analyzing and writing literary criticism is a fairly large part of upper level English literature courses and is absolutely the worst part of the discipline.

Really, the only joy I get out of most criticism is pointing out how ridiculous and retarded so many revered critics (Foucault, Baudrillard, etc.) are. It's so stupid that people buy into their ideas when most of them are incredibly vague or make massive assumptions.

That being said, unless you plan to teach or go to graduate school, it's a very bad idea to major in English.
