Not a bad movie, though by no mean unflawed

Although the plot was more intricate than the remake, it was filled with cartoonish loopholes, the most blaring of which was that the vampires were more like medieval jerk-offs than hopeless mutants (the book had them probably somewhere between)

NEvertheless, Charlton Heston isnt a bad actor, and I could actualy sit through this movie. It was something different by 70s standards.

I guess I give it 3 out of 5 or something like that

70's standards? Yeah the 1970's is by far, the best decade for American films. Also, no shit, Heston is an unbelievable actor.

Don't agree? Find 5 bad movies from the 70's within an hour of research (that AREN'T Jaws sequels).

But I'm not trying to troll, keep watching 70's movies and you'll realize why Star Wars wasn't even close to be as good as random shit like Tootsie.

The dirty film style of 70's film making allowed movies to be far more believable, realistic, and influential than any other era.

Find a bad 1970's movie, watch it, and fucking dare to say that it's not actually better than 90% of the shit that even out there right now. Supposedly the worst movie from the 1970's is The Dirt Gang... mostly because it has scenes of violent rape and stereotypes bikers as drug dealers and wanted criminals (which is a fact, actually).

That decade was when films were aimed at intelligent people and when film was an art, not a money-making scheme made by dumb people, for dumb people.

I'm not going to make a faggish list of movies from the 70's I saw, but when you see ANYTHING from the 70's on a bittorrent site, DOWNLOAD it.

I recently saw this movie about a pyschotherapist rapes and kills one of his patients set in 1950's Austria. I don't remember the title but it had the old guy from Resevoir Dogs in it.

Only in the 70's they made shit like that.

The amount of truly good 70s movies can be counted on your hands

Besides, I admit I dont enjoy the style. I just didnt enjoy Godfather 1 or French Connection. Also, New Hope was the worst Star Wars before they introduced those shit prequels

I actually think that we make more PASSABLE movies in the past 15 years than ever. But maybe thats just becuase there are more of them

80s is the opposite; lots of trash that people call good movies, but still the most gems in the dung heap

Anthony Hopkins
Jack Nicholson

All of those actors only made extremely good movies that decade. That's like 30 great movies. 1980-81 basically count. In some way so does 1969.
