This is a disturbing article to me because I don't understand what the joke is.

The Onion never goes over my head. I am a master of humor so it's impossible for any humor to go over my head (assuming that I know all the reference-points involved, and that it isn't Big Fagot humor).

The joke can't be just that "it was a prank, and the guy doesn't get this, and it's funny because he doesn't understand what would motivate somebody to do that type of prank, because, haha, his mentality is so different".

A joke that straightforward and lacking in INCISIVENESS would never be in the Onion.
