I don't like King of the Hill because all of the characters are awful human beings and Texas is an awful place.

I don't really DESIRE to watch King of the Hill a lot, but I've seen it enough times randomly on TV to say that it's a great show, and while a few episodes are stinkers, it definitely has a lot of great context and subtext!

Theldorrin, I know what you mean, but the only character who is capable of ruining an episode for me is Peggy. I think we talked about this on Untalent! How Peggy and the mom from 7th Heaven may be the two most unbearable characters in all fiction.

I've met some people who conceded that they're not really interested in character-based humor and that the appeal of King of the Hill was lost on them as a result. I think MHH is the first person I've seen who is gay enough and stupid enough to take the offensive.

My experience with King of the Hill, and I've found it to be true among several people I know, is that it's a show you don't ever go out of your way to watch, but when you DO watch it it's like, "Shit, haha, that was good! That's a good show! I should watch that more often."

And then you don't for a few months, then you catch it again, you say that to yourself again, and the cycle continues.
