I bet Morgan gets so fucking humped by them and doesn't have the first goddamn idea, and if I were to sit down and look at her phone bill(s) it would be a disgusting horrorscape of overcharging and manipulation, and I'd confront her about it and suggest alternatives, and she'd be all "Whatever, all I care about is that it works!"

I agree that texting shouldn't be an extra charge. Or anything else, really. They're all using the same resources, so what difference does it make?

But there's nothing I can do about it so I just pay the extra $5 or $10 a month or whatever to have unlimited messages.

It really does make me mad that even when I pay extra for texts, you still have to pay MORE to be able to send/receive pictures or go on the internet or whatever! That REALLY pisses me off. Like, if you're going to be gay about it, just make people pay a small extra fee for anything besides basic phone usage. Not an extra fee for each separate feature.

The real power of SMS is that it can be automated. So if the servers go down, you can be texted informing you of that fact.

I guess beepers can be automated too, but that requires a modem and a phone line.
