Dpayne: Yeah I just told Michael he's gettingup.
 Jason: Oh, no.
Jason: I wanted to ask you about Chimerstry.
 Jason: For my game.
 Dpayne: Oh?
Jason: I was going to have guys alerted to it and roll Perception + Self-Control to realize it's an illusion.
Jason: I was wondering about seeing through it, with Auspex.
 Jason: without
Jason: Since the books don't directly address it.
Dpayne: I think they need to be pretty astute to see through higher level illusions, and in fact that might be impossible.
Jason: Yeah, that's what I am worried about.
Dpayne: Well, that's why it's such a costly power.
Dpayne: Giving your players clues as to the whole in the illusion on a succesful perception+wits roll seems like the most appropriate way.
Jason: It really doesn't have any effect if someone tells them it's an illusion?
 Dpayne: Or perception/wits+alertness
Dpayne: Certainly not for the level 5 power, I think the person would probably have to thoroughly convince them with a higher level illusion.
 Jason: mannnnn
Dpayne: Well just think of it in the context of someone walking into your apartment and telling you it wasn't real.
Jason: I need my characters to see through this.
Jason: Oh, also, I guess the other thing is the book saying the illusion has to be believable.
 Dpayne: Yeah that's true.
Dpayne: I think putting a weakness in the illusion is the best route.
Jason: I didn't want to make it too bizarre, but I thought it would help if it was a spontaneous giant fire, that didn't actually have a beginning.
 Jason: Any kind of ignition.
Dpayne: Would that really be believable though?
 Jason: Hopefully not!
Jason: Because I want them to maintain.
Dpayne: I think in that situation perception + self control would be appropriate.
Dpayne: I think in others it would require maybe something a little more.
Jason: Or I'm thinking about just having them make Rotschreck checks and then continue on anyway, even with the fire being real to them.
Dpayne: It really depends on the context.
Dpayne: I would make them do Rothschreck, and successes would equal piercing the illusion.
