Kendo's Boyfriend: Date: Wed, 08 Nov 2000 14:48:29 EST From: "Jeremy Mitchell" To: utils@onebox.com Utils (I'm begining to wonder if that is your real name. . .nah!), Well I usually start by formally introducing myself. My name isJeremy and I live in a suburban community complete with cloned copies of allthe local yuppies. I'm 23 years old and grew up in California near San Jose. Alright Introduction over. I've been considering race relations for some time. Mostly to myself because getting intelligent responses from non-biased people is exceedingly difficult. In fact upon further review of the statement I made earlierI realize that is was. . .well unintelligent to say the least. Forgiveme I sometimes get caught up in the ignorance of the environment and then'bang' I'm just as bad as the teeny boopers that comprise the majority. In reality that statement is made from my own preconception of what I know of NewYork (which admittedly isn't much therefore making the statement in itself ignorant) in any event the point I thought I was trying to make is this. My image (true or not) of New York is that its poulace majorityis comprised of blacks. As I previously stated many blacks are. . well racists (I do not use the term reverse-racism because there is no such thing).In fact I would go as far as to say that there are more racist blacks in America than there are racist whites. Now please do not mistake me here.I make no claim that there are NO racist white people nor do I proposethat whites racism is any way justifiable. What I do propose is that the majority of white racism is isolated to particualr parts of the country wherethere are organized actions taking place amoung a community of people (Klan members as an obvious example). Black racism (which again I do not condone or justify) is more widespread and un-organized and in this respect Ifeel that black racists are more prone to random acts of racial violence asan outlet for thier hatred. Thus leading to my hasty claim that you aresafer than myself on the streets of New York. I would not have made this claimif we were talking about say Alabama. I hope this has cleared the air andi would like to hear your thoughts on the subject and again I apologizefor anything that may have offended you (I know truth doesn't offend youbut sometimes the truth is only what we percieve it to be.)
