Post     Set a Game to Classical Music

Let's pick a game and find appropriate classical music to go with the various parts.

It's have to be something like Final Fantasy 1 or 6, or maybe a Link to the Past.

I'd suggest something like Pokemon which has a lot of theme oriented areas and gym leaders.

Final Fantasy 1 would be nice since its music is pretty forgetable compared to the rest of the series.

You have to pick a game that everyone's played!

I'll start off by suggesting Moonlight Sonata movement 3 as boss fight music.

Mars would be a good choice for anytime there's an advancing army on screen.

Since it's Final Fantasy Lich's theme would be Toccata and Fugue in D minor because I like being cliche.

I don't think anything is cliched by the rules that we're playing by.

Which is to say that even stuff from the William Tell Overture is fair game, although I doubt any is particularly appropriate for this game.

Blue Danube would be a good overworld theme.

Also an instrumental Ombra Mai Fu would be a good town theme.

Blue Danube is NOT a good theme. Come on. It's not a theme-style piece!

You can't use a waltz as a theme, unless you're going for an AIR OF SILLINESS.

Like the SMB water level, which is a waltz, but it kind of works in that context.

I'm not going to offer anything in this thread, but I'll be happy to criticize other people's suggestions!

I like the idea of an overworld theme starting slow and moving towards a faster more upbeat tone (sort of like moving from dawn to the day). I wouldn't use it for anything outside of an overworld theme, and in general I tend to agree with you.
