This is what I'm sort of thinking of doing.
Quitting my job, and going to USA to study filmmaking. I'm good at my job, and I'm climbing the career ladder fairly well (my managers are brooming me for a Team Leader position by the end of the year), but I'm not satisfied. And I cant imagine anywhere aside from USA which would be good for study film.
However, it seems very expensive. I can probably afford one year (USD 20k), but what do I do after that? As a foreigner, I'm not legiable for student loans. |

I bought a home video camera for 4500 dhs (USD 1223) in September, and its probably the most useless purchase I have ever done. All I did with it was film a few places in Iran, and did that Bin Destruction segment.
I regret that, and I also regret investing in the shares market. I wish I hadn't because my shares are like 50% down, and it has not been going up for the last couple of months |

You could always just get an entry level job working on a film and learn by doing. In your situation that's probably the most legiable option. |

I'm so used to having a decent, easy life, that I can't imagine how it would be to risk it all.
I'd always imagine USA for me would be working two shitty jobs (one would be a waiter and the other would be an entry level job in the film industry) while coming home to a tiny apartment in a black neighbourhood, and where people would constantly be racist against me like in Harold & Kumar. |

Well, depending on where you move they might at least not throw bricks through your window and shit.
The trick to being anything other than white or black in America is not to be so poor that everyone can look down on you, nor so successful that people get jealous. |

Why don't you just become a translator? That seems like an easy job. |

My farsi isnt that good, but in all honesty, who'd know? If they knew farsi, they wouldnt need a translator, so you could do a shitty job, and no one would know until after they paid you. |

Probably not for a translating job!
Translating between two languages is very difficult! |

So, I smoked some drugs yesterday, but I'm not sure what you call it in English.
Basically, its like this. It looks like a small bit of plastic clay. you heat a sort of wire or thin metal, then touch it with the drug, and smoke will come out. You use a plastic straw to blow in the smoke. |
