Post     Metallica

I've been listening to Kill Em All recently. It's the only Metallica album I have, I think I'm gonna get more of them. I like it. The lyrics are really stupid and on this one the singer sounds like a pissed off high school special ed retard!!!! I haven't listened to a lot of metal but I don't really know what this album says about metal that wasn't already on Motorhead songs, and apparently Motorhead isn't even metal??? I dunno what THAT'S about.

I think I'm gonna listen to the albums chronologically. I'm listening to Ace of Spades right now, which came out three years before Metallica's debut album "Kill Them All." I might listen to Judas Priest instead of Metallica. I already know they can and do pronounce "leather" exactly as perfectly as Metallica does.

I have also heard Metallica's 2011 collaboration with Lou Reed, "Lulu." It isn't hard for me to picture everyone involved leaving the recording studio soaked with tears after recording for the day, like Mozart crying on one of his music pages or Shakespeare crying backstage at Romeo & Juliet.

Best thing about "Ace of Spades" (1980): I'm pretty sure every song uses that rattle thing that is normally reserved for a song where a western/cowboy/snake vibe is desired. They're dressed like western cowboy snakes on the album cover though, so maybe it isn't even funny that they follow through with the western rattle!!!

Motorhead is extremely metal. Don't let anybody tell you different.

I like the song on "Kill Em All" where they talk about dancing at a Metallica concert. Do these guys think they're the Ramones or something??

I really enjoy Ride the Lightning (And have for the past several months.). Though I'm not sure that counts for much since it's also the first and only album of theirs that I've heard. Still, a whole album about death and execution! Best concept album concept.

Oh good, a "first four" faggot.

Hey Yogurtman, some cunts from 1993 called. They want their "the black album is popular and on MTV a lot so it's bad" opinion back!

I'm a 2-3-4 guy. Kill Em All is like season 1 of The Simpsons; flashes of brilliance, but not quite there yet!

ALDP, don't give up. Just smile and nod, and listen to some FUCKING Metallica.

At least listen to Ride the Lightning. It improves on Kill 'Em All in pretty much every way, and each song describes a different type of death (immolation, electrocution, drowning, suffering at the hands of a vengeful Hebrew God, etc.) Their next two albums are good, and the Black Album has some standout tracks, but Ride the Lightning is the only one that's perfect from front to back (EYE EM OH).

I used to think Master of Puppets was the best album, but after a while, I came to realize that Lightning is superior. I even like Justice better than Puppets now. One is probably the single best Metallica song. It basically forced the Grammy Awards to create a heavy metal category!

The only Metallica I've ever listened to is One and St. Anger.

I'm not going to pretend like I don't own and enjoy the Black Album, but I'm also not going to apologize for the fact that I listen to Kill Em All about ten times more frequently.

The Metallica cover of Astronomy is amazing, but I don't understand why they fade out on the riff at the end. That's when the song really gets going!

Anyone who thinks that the Black album is bad is a fucking retard.
