So I'm curious how many people at FTU do a lot of dating, or what experiences and thoughts on relationships were in general on this board. Do people find it better to keep dating and look for an actual relationship, or is the friends with benefits thing preferable to most people, or do you go for just the random hook-up/one night stand, or just say fuck it to the whole situation all together?

In my limited experience I've always preferred actual relationships. I loathe the fucking "game". I hate pretending to be a different person just to get into a random girl's pants, I hate courtship rituals, buying drinks, making the first move, making fun of them just enough to come off as clever but not a dick. It's such a hassle. I'm terrible at reading SIGNS. I never know if I should try to grab a girl's tits or finger her when I'm making out with her or if she thinks that's going too far. And when the girl is just a slut and she's all over me I just feel awkward, and kind of like I'm above fucking those kinds of girls. It's a lose-lose.

My current girlfriend, who I've been dating for 2 and a half years now, started out as my friend. A sexual relationship kind of grew organically out of our friendship (aka we danced all night on ecstasy and fell in love with each other), and I'm extremely grateful for that, because I was always too chickenshit to try to woo her in any conventional way. I can pretty much do whatever I want around her, she knows everything about me, and it's extremely comforting to know this.

Of course I've been in a couple bad relationships with crazy bitches as well, but overall I still found those experiences preferable to going to a sleazy bar and trying to convince a slut to come home with me.

Random hooking up is only okay if you want sex and nothing more, but its much better to have someone to rely on, and who relies on you. Though relationship garbage can get annoying if, like me, you enjoy privacy and solitude now and then, but she's all jealous/clingy.

The dating scene is rough, and I hate being single. I took a few years off after I got rejected, big time. This girl I am dating now isn't sure she wants anything serious, but I'm all with taking things a step at a time. I've rushed into relationships with disastrous results, and more times than not misread signals. The game sucks more and more the older you get, which is rough since it sucked from the start.

I don't even know what dating is anymore in the modern context. That being said, I guess yes, I am in a semi long distance long-term relationship.

I don't really enjoy people and that usually extends to both men and women, so it's tough for me to find someone with whom I'm compatible, So I don't really date anymore (I have had like 4 serious girlfriends though). (What I mean by the time-frame of anymore, was that I didn't find anyone I wanted to date for three years or whatever).

At certain points in university I was a huge slut. I guess I've gotten with a lot of partners.

I think until recently I was perpetually oblivious/didn't care. This one girl once asked me to sit in a car with her and drink 40's, which sounded awesome, but I was too retarded to realize I should make a move in that period. I think I actually ended up in her room at some point and instead of trying to make out with her I was like "WE SHOULD LISTEN TO IRON MAIDEN!"

The meems thing has actually left me kind of embittered and damaged. A few months after that whole nightmare this chick started randomly messaging me on FB claiming she wanted to "Get me to know me better." She started calling me and shit and I was intensely paranoid the whole time that it was some kind of insane revenge scheme by REBEKAH. She was getting all HOT N HEAVY over the phone and I seriously just stopped her and went "Is this some kind of fucking trap?"

Last time I did a count of my number of partners I've fooled around with I was up to 19 before I stopped counting, and this was a couple of months ago. So yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm the biggest whore on this board.

As for dating, it depends for me. I go through periods where I have no desire to seek out anything and just say fuck it to the whole situation all together. But then I go through these times where I desperately want to be in a relationship, which is usually great for about a month before I'm anxious to being single again and am just waiting for the person to dump me (which still pisses me off when it happens, but I'm too big of a pussy to end a relationship myself). The longest I dated anyone was for a year, and that ended up being such a giant clusterfuck I really haven't exactly been rushing into anything long term since.

In general I just have a few friends with benefits that I can call upon when the time is right. My cell phone is basically a sword of omen that summons gay guys that like fooling around with fat hairy guys, and surprisingly there are no shortage of these, but it probably helps that I come across as a straight guy and all fags want to fuck a straight guy. (Thunder, Thunder, Thunderfags HOOOOOOOOO!)

My only significant hurdle is finding individuals that can engage me on any meaningful level. Probably due to my hubris in excess. And since my various interests and passions are so wildly varying and obscure the likelihood of such a chance encounter is extremely unlikely. My last series of dates was with a borderline psychotic skater/punk chick that shared my love of A Clockwork Orange. In hindsight I probably should have known that bonding over a movie about ultra-violence and rape would only be detrimental.

Getting laid when you're gay is easy. Finding someone tolerable enough to date is the tricky part (also feminine guys are just fucking unbearable, and that's 75% of fags out there).
