Schubert is a 19th century composer and that second link is by Handel (whatever that Harpsichordish instrument is is much less common in Romantic era music and whatnot).
If you want stuff like Schubert, then you should be interested in other Romantic composers (like Liszt, and maybe Brahms and Tchaikovsky).
I don't have much Schubert. Just Opus 90 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkX4MyDeIqI), which was featured in Gattaca, Marche Militaire (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml7ZleYolro) and Ave Maria (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQVz6vuNq7s). I want to say that his Ave Maria is the most famous, but I can't immediately recall any of the others except for the Gounod/Bach one. _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |

Isn't Gattaca that shitty, gay movie that made back less than half of its budget because it SUCKED so bad? |

Oh sorry. I assumed Schubert was an 18th century composer because Barry Lyndon is set in the 1700s but I guess Kubrick doesn't really give a shit about being anachronistic. |

u dont no shit bitch
Schubert is really famous for his songs (leider) but since I don't like vocal music too much:
Impromptu in A (<3): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqOO2IVGya0&feature=related
I actually like most of his piano impromptus, but that's my fave even though it's a simple piece.
Du Bist Die Ruh - There are a million versions of this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUvfkWxsxZY
Symphony 8 is really good too. I would also recommend An den Fruhling if you can find a recording of it. |

And yeah, if you want more of that serious/detached sound just go through Bach/Hadyn, they've written hundreds of pieces like that.
Here's one I like a lot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CwICXwLBmo
At least listen until the first violin kicks in. |

I think you are talking about another movie called Gattaca, Christopher. _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |
