The hypothetical thread. |

This is the thread where we propose hypothetical alterations in history, and how they may have changed the course of history.
Here is the first hypothetical situation:
What if Einstein had got his dick rocked by a bitch with shit locks? |

An Atheist is as every bit as closed-minded as even the most brainwashed Mormon.
They're both obsessed with God.
They both constantly think about the implications of dogmas.
They both believe they understand the complex details of reality and like to think they're well-read.
Both can't tell the difference between a belief and an acceptance of actuality.
Both have a low tolerance to deviant thought and are highly abrasive to contradicting viewpoints. Which means they are high on selective exposure.
And both use every opportunity to prove their viewpoint to help develop their super-egos.
Finally, both have highly personalized concepts of the value of rational philosophy.
Correct me if I'm wrong here. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rL1oU6fH25w |

The important difference is that the atheist is right and the Mormon is wrong.
Being open to wrong ideas is not a positive personality trait. |

| It's been said that without Einstein, we would have gotten special relativity within the decade, but we might still be waiting for general relativity. |

One of the things I admire about physics is that it's all there already, and it's really just a race to see who figures what out first.
Which also highlights what's gay/beautiful about creativity, in that Hamlet, or Goku Sticks His Dick In Some Bi-Lo Cheese, are unique, and the opposite of inevitable.

| How funny would it be if you were reading about Albert Einstein's life, and you came across the sentence, "It was at this time that the Einstein family doctor diagnosed young Albert as having, 'an unhealthy fascination with dicks'"? |

Alright, new hypothosis.
When scientists carried out the first experiments in nuclear fission, they were afraid it would literally unzip the entire universe. The catalyst for the reaction involved firing an electron into the neutron of a hydrogen atom, thus breaking it apart and releasing its locked energy. A neutron is actually a proton binded to an electron, so the nucleic electrons of that hydrogen atom then penetrated subsequent hydrogen atoms, causing them to "explode," releasing more nucleic electrons, etc. etc. And the chain reation resulted in a massive release of energy aka explosion.
The fear was that this chain reaction would simply never end, that it could not be contained and would spread into the atmospheric gasses, and into solids, and eventually turn the entire planet, if not the entire universe, into pure energy (kind of like crossing the beams in Ghostbusters).
Here is the hypothesis. What if this fear were actually true, but the unzipping process is happening very slowly? What modern phenomenon could be explained by this unzippin process? Crop circles? The Magic Bullet that killed JFK? Ghosts? UFOs? FEMA Concentration Camps? Chris Benoit?
Discuss. |
