all these critically acclaimed end of the year movies have been shit so I just assumed the worst for this one too.

It may just be me, but Clint Eastwood is a badass and him fucking with minorities while saying awesome shit in an overly raspy voice gives me a boner.

The Hmong actors were God awful, the tone was uneven (it bounced from dramatic to comedic and back), the plot was predictable, and many scenes were unnecessary.

I enjoyed it, but I also cringed a lot. The HOW TO TALK LIKE A MAN scene was really unrealistic. I could understand that maybe THOSE TWO CHARACTERS would act like that, but most of Clint's buddies spouted off racial slurs for the majority of their screen time.

The movie wasn't horrible, it was just "off."

It's really very tough to give movies valid criticisms while actually being objective; simply because the makers of the film would have seen it, especially in this movie.

Clint Eastwood is a clever fascist fellow. I'm sure all your criticisms wouldn't hold weight if he was standing right next to you, calling you a dumbass.

You have to be THAT prepared if you want to be a professional.

No, I'm pretty sure most film critics don't have to orally dictate the reviews of movies to their creators.

Clint Eastwood is one of my favorite actors and directors, but Gran Torino was just decent.

Hmong are from Southeast ASia, they mostly backwards mountain people, but they pretty fierce mostly. Sometimes they immigrate to America and don't immediately understand how to behave in civilized cuture, so they stabbin people in the supermarkets and shit on the sidewalks then play it off legit like no big thing.
