According to Wikipedia, you'd have to drink a large amount of heavy water for it to be harmful.

No, because heavy water poisoning is caused when heavy water replaces normal water in your body in great quantities. And this is unlikely unless you drink it for several days exclusively.

This process is known as "deuteration" and most animals, including humans, need at least a 25 percent deuteration rate to so much as feel the effects of the poison.

That would involve the human body consisting of several pounds of heavy water before being poisoned.

Wow, that's some pretty powerful stuff. I think the saddest quality is, all the characters were innocent looking and had a heavy tragic demise.

I have to say this movie is pretty bad. The gore in this movie was so ridiculous that it was comical, like the swinging eye ball zombie army.

That's basically an example of what the whole problem with the movie is, is that it's a horrible blend of anime and war movies.

It's like, if you're going to try and make a serious point about the war, it helps to not stick about 1000 goofy ass anime cliches in there. I like how the dad has enough energy to give one last inspiring speech after he got impaled and his fucking house collapsed on him.

I think the main point of most Japanese movies about WWII is that rape of Nanking was ok, because Japan got nuked.
