My poetry teacher would call that the "intentional fallacy."
That is, if your intent is to write a poem about boredom, you have to convey boredom without the poem itself being boring, or in this case, a television show about something tedious must convey that tedium without being tedious to watch.
I don't know if "fallacy" is really the right word, but that's what he calls it. |
