Kristin Dos Santos of E! called the episode's final plot twist that Kate is raising Aaron "fantastic" and "unexpected".[6] Michael Ausiello of TV Guide dubbed "Eggtown" the best episode of the first four episodes of the fourth season.[7] In constrast, Chris Carabott of IGN rated it the worst with 7.6/10. He wrote that "Kate's flashforward … feels a little out of place on Lost", "the episode's best moments are … the never-ending struggle for power between Locke and Ben" and the "final revelation was shocking … but Lost can't survive on shock value alone."[8] Oscar Dahl of BuddyTV commented that "Those last few [flash]forward scenes were genius. The writers really out-did themselves."[9]


Are you fucking joking? I'm usually pretty dense when it comes to plot twists, and even I saw that coming from the very beginning. God, everyone is such a piece of shit!!!!!

Kate returns to her home, where it is revealed that the blond-haired toddler who calls her "Mummy" is named Aaron. Surprisingly Claire's baby is also named Aaron.

Wikipedia is unbelievable.

I like counting how many times characters do something that would cause me to kill them in their sleep. A lot of the characters are very insane!

[Jason]

I wish I had put money down on your favorites being Jin and Sun.

Go on about the characters being insane, especially in ways that you know other people would disagree with you.

Oh, do other people disagree with me?

I thought it would be pretty universal that sticking an armed grenade in someone's mouth is crazy when that person hasn't even done anything. Not to mention the fact that the person that didn't do anything is tied up as well.

Oh, I forgot about when Locke threw a dagger into that woman who hadn't done anything's back.

The best was how everyone saw that, and somehow he was still able to gather followers.

He probably orange peel smiled at them.

They joined Locke because they bought into the idea that Naomi and her people were evil and coming to kill them, so it's not like they think Locke just murdered an innocent on impulse (he also refused to kill Jack).

And Miles clearly wasn't going to talk about the company under the current threat level, so Locke had to make him SWEAT.

Yes, they bought into it enough that they have no qualms with murder, despite the fact that they don't really have any evidence supporting Locke's view.

My favorite character was Locke, but now I'm not so sure about him. I also liked Mr. Eko, but you know what happens to colored people on Lost. After those two I guess I like Sayid.

Sayid's flash foward was the only one I really enjoyed. He also happens to be my favorite character besides Jin. The flash fowards aren't really adding anything to the overall storyline other than letting you know who's no longer in any danger of being killed off in the present, which is gay.

Only two "colored" people have died, and that's counting Ana-Lucia. Michael and Walt left, but they're returning. Compared to the four white characters who have died, plus a ton of white Others and extras.

So shut up!

I think they've decided that, for the most part, they're just going to bring in new characters and kill them off.

[Jason]

I really like the flash forwards! Except for Sayid's!

Naomi died and Michael and Walt were written off the show. There are no more colored characters to kill off. Except Michael Abbadon I guess.
