I beat everyone in a poker tournament today because I'm the fucking best and I got a 150 dollar Barnes and Noble certificate out of it.

So, if anyone has a recommendation for one or two books/graphic novels that would be swell.

Ace, what are some good absurdist novels? Kafka, Camus and Heller's works are all awesome so I think this is a pretty good vein to tap in to.

You might enjoy magical realism. You can try One Hundred Years of Solitude, which is awesome but takes a long time to read. If you haven't read Confederacy of Dunces yet, now is a good time as well.

I don't know about magical realism. I read Midnight's Children and thought it sucked pretty hard, but then again I dislike most British stuff with the exception maybe of White Teeth.

Magical realism is Latin American in origin.

Another odd book that I enjoyed was Life of Pi, even though there supposed to be a spiritual message. The same goes with The Alchemist.

Well, I've never read Midnight's Children.

I will keep on recommending Cormac McCarthy's (wrote No Country for Old Men and the recent Pulitzer Prize winning The Road) Blood Meridian.

IT IS A REALLY GOOD BOOK.

God, Blood Meridian should be the book of FTU. It is violent, crazy, beautiful, and awesome all at the same time.
