I guess all I'm getting at is, I honestly don't understand the psychology of people who don't appreciate this thread. If not in execution, at least in concept, and even at that some of them don't like it.

To me, this thread is very FTU in spirit.

A lot of these expressions are really lame attempts at humor. They're these stock quips that become part of the public lexicon and end up being robotically uttered over and over again . True wit and original humor are rare and highly-prized things, and the people who use these expressions trick themselves into thinking that they possess these qualities (Mr. Satan).

I'm surprised that any battle-hardened FTU veteran wouldn't agree in that respect. Or at at the very least revel in the anti-social spirit of it all!

Of course, the marriage of Chris/nickass doomed the thread from the start. Speaking of which, I'm probably done here (in this thread!).

I just read this thread all the way from page 3 onwards to compile everything, because mautty's post put the fear of fat hog asses into me, and I can honestly say that this is in my top 5 threads of all time.

This is truly a GEM.

One thing I noticed is people saying something like, "God, you guys are so PICKY!" but then later in the thread, somebody mentioning something (or they themselves mentioning something), and the offender suddenly perking up and going "OH! Oh THAT is SO annoying!"

Another consistent behavior is to express enthusiasm for some part of the thread, and then later to start dogging it.

It was originally only mautty who expressed hate for the thread, but now the sentiment is avalanching.

One of the scanslators for Ippo (I can't remember which team it was) uses both of those as if they were actual, sanctioned, time tested idiomatic expressions fit for state of the union speeches and papal addresses.

He just doesn't know any alternate ways to construct a sentence!
